The application is deployed as a server-based web app and can be run using Docker. It provides a visual interface for managing travel data, including map views and a travel book, while offering tools for collaborative trip planning and sharing experiences with other users.

Key features

  • Logging of visited locations with dates, descriptions, and ratings
  • Interactive map views including a 3D representation of travel history
  • Itinerary planner with flight information, notes, checklists, and external links
  • World travel book to track visited countries and specific regions
  • Ability to upload trails and activities to locations for detailed stats
  • Collaborative trip planning through shared itineraries

The software uses a modern tech stack consisting of a SvelteKit frontend with TailwindCSS and DaisyUI. The backend is built with Django and the Django REST Framework, utilizing PostGIS for geospatial data management and AllAuth for user authentication. It is designed for travelers who want a private, self-managed way to document their journeys and coordinate travel plans with others.
