Alf.io

Alf.io is an open-source application that provides a comprehensive ticket reservation system for event organizers. It is designed to manage attendance for various event types, including conferences, trade shows, workshops, and meetups, with a specific focus on privacy, security, and fair pricing policies for customers. The software allows organizers to handle the entire lifecycle of ticket bookings and maintain detailed attendee lists for their events.

The application is built using Java 17 and requires a PostgreSQL database version 10 or later to store event and user data. To ensure high security standards, the system utilizes row security policy checks, which require that the database user is not a superuser. This architecture ensures that data access is strictly controlled and protected against unauthorized modifications.

Installation and deployment can be performed via a Gradle build or by using Docker containers. For those using Docker, the project provides a docker-compose configuration for development mode, though production deployments require manual configuration of SSL termination and environment variables. The application supports multiple Spring profiles to accommodate different needs, including a development mode for testing and a demo mode that automatically creates administrator accounts for quick evaluation. Once started, the system is accessed through a web browser, where administrators can log in to manage the event settings and monitor reservations.
