Atomic Server is an open-source headless CMS and graph database designed for creating, sharing, and modeling linked atomic data. It operates as a server application that provides a backend for managing structured information through a RESTful API with JSON-AD responses. The system allows users to model complex relationships between data points while maintaining a lightweight footprint.
The software is deployed as an embedded server supporting HTTP, HTTPS, and HTTP2.0, with built-in Let's Encrypt integration for TLS. It includes a comprehensive ecosystem of client-side tools to interact with the data, including a React-based browser for visual management, a terminal CLI for command-line operations, and dedicated libraries for JavaScript, TypeScript, Svelte, and Rust developers.
Built with Rust using the Actix-web framework and Sled database, the architecture focuses on low latency and minimal runtime dependencies. It is designed for developers building collaborative applications or knowledge management systems that require linked data structures and strict schema validation.
