IPTVnator

IPTVnator is an open-source IPTV player application that serves as an alternative to proprietary media streaming clients. It allows users to organize and watch television channels by importing playlists via remote URLs or local files. The software is available as a desktop application for Windows, macOS, and Linux, and can be installed via Homebrew, Snap, or the AUR.

The application supports various playlist formats and connection methods to stream live TV and radio. Users can manage their content through a group-based channel list and a global favorites system that aggregates channels from all imported playlists. It includes a built-in video player but also allows the use of external players for playback to ensure compatibility with different stream types.

For users who prefer a web-based experience, a Docker image is available to self-host the application as a Progressive Web App. This self-hosted version includes a backend for remote M3U parsing and proxy requests, though it lacks some desktop-specific features like the download manager and embedded MPV controls.
