slskd is an open-source client server application for the Soulseek file sharing network. It operates as a daemon that allows users to interact with the network through a web browser rather than a standalone desktop client. This architecture enables the software to run continuously in the background, managing file transfers and network connectivity independently of the user's active session.

The software is deployed as a server application, supporting installation via Docker containers or platform-specific binaries for Linux, macOS, and Windows. It is designed for self-hosting on local networks or in the cloud, providing a web-based interface for managing peer-to-peer file transfers.
